سرق مهندسان في سلاح الجو الملكي البريطاني تمثال الدب الشهير "بادينغتون بير"، إحدى أبرز الشخصيات في أدب الأطفال البريطاني.

وحسب"تليغراف"، سجلت الحادثة في بلدة نيوبري، بمقاطعة باركشير، حيث كان دانييل هيث وويليام لورانس، 22 عاماً، ويعملان في قاعدة سلاح الجو الملكي البريطاني، يقضيان ليلة خارجية ويشربان الكحول، وأثناء مرورهما بالشارع، كسرا التمثال المثبت على مقعد عام وسرقاه.

وأظهرت كاميرات المراقبة سرقة الشابين للتمثال، وكشفت تحقيقات الشرطة لاحقاً أنه نُقل في سيارة أجرة إلى قاعدة سلاح الجو الملكي حيث عُثر عليه لاحقاً داخل سيارة أحد المتهمين.
